Longer pieces mean fewer joints. Cut inside corners with a coping saw for a tight fit.
How it works
Linear feet = room perimeter − doorways × 3 ft. Then pieces = linear feet × (1 + waste) ÷ piece length, rounded up.
Worked example
A 14 × 12 ft room with 1 doorway and 16 ft pieces:
- 2 × (14 + 12) = 52 ft − 3 ft = 49 linear ft
- 49 + 10% = 53.9 ÷ 16 = 4 pieces
