How it works
Puppies follow a growth curve that slows as they approach adulthood. Smaller breeds finish early (about 9–11 months); giant breeds keep growing until around 2 years.
We estimate how much of their adult weight your puppy has reached for their age and size, then:
Adult weight = current weight ÷ fraction grown
Worked example
A 16-week-old medium puppy weighing 15 lb is about 61% grown on our curve, so 15 ÷ 0.61 ≈ 25 lb as an adult (likely 22–27 lb).
