Slope gutters about 1/4 inch for every 10 feet toward the downspout so water never sits.
How it works
Gutter feet = total length of the roof edges. Downspouts = the larger of one per 40 ft of gutter or one per 600 sq ft of roof. Hangers ≈ one every 2 ft. End caps = 2 per separate run (corners join runs). Outlets = one per downspout.
Worked example
Two 40 ft eaves with a 1,200 sq ft roof: 80 ft of gutter, 2 downspouts, 40 hangers, 4 end caps and 2 outlets.
